Original Manuscript of “The Star-Spangled Banner” is shown here. On March 3, 1931 The “Star-Spangled Banner” was made the official National Anthem of United States of America. Thanks to American Patriot, Francis Scott Key for writing these famous four verses, starting on September 14, 1814 during the battle at Ft. McHenry, in Baltimore, Maryland, as part of The War of 1812. Special thanks to Mary Pickersgill and her family for sewing the Star-Spangled Banner Flag that was flown in Baltimore. In the years since 1814 Americans have flown our American Flag and sung our National Anthem to show what it means to be an American.
